Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are excited to announce that we are again participating
in The 2018 Great Kindness Challenge where we will join thousands of schools
across the country to create a culture of kindness. Your child is part of a
powerful and positive bullying prevention initiative that will lead to more
kindness, unity and respect at school and beyond. The Student Council has
decided to place their focus on helping a community in Haiti by participating in
the WeDay Build a School initiative. To help build upon this momentum, we will
be supporting the student council build a school initiative during the Great
Kindness Challenge.
All students are invited to participate by giving
their extra coins! From January 22 to 26, students can collect spare change at
home to be donated
to help build a
school in a community in Haiti.
This is a great opportunity for our students to
respond to the needs of others, which teaches empathy and compassion. Building
a playground will help bring education to children and a community who are in
need.
Thank you in advance for helping to create a culture
of kindness and compassion in our community and beyond!
With
Great Gratitude,
Your Principal
Scott Thomson
