The end of the year is fast approaching. The Early Years,
Kindergarten-Grade 4 Winter & Christmas Concert is scheduled for Thursday,
December 21st. Each class has been preparing a variety of music and poetry to
get everyone in the “holiday spirit.” I look forward to the concert and
encourage everyone to join us in this community celebration.
It looks like winter
is finally arriving. I would like to remind families to make sure that students
dress appropriately for the weather. Boots, jackets, ski pants, mitts and
toques are all important for winter in Manitoba.
The
first term of school has ended and it is a good time to pause and reflect. The
first term has been challenging, exhilarating and rewarding. We know that we
still have much work ahead of us in our operation to rebuild J. A. Cuddy
School. However, it has been evident that we have become a closer team of
students and staff as a result of the school fire. A big thank you goes out to
all the staff of the school for their outstanding effort in making the start of
this school year such a success. Congratulations also needs to go out to the
students on all of their academic and athletic achievements in the middle of
all our challenges. We have some amazing Jaguars at J. A. Cuddy School.
I hope that you enjoyed seeing your child’s first term Report Card and have
booked your appointment for our Student Learning Conferences. It is always a
pleasure to work collaboratively with families to plan and improve on student
learning. This was J. A. Cuddy's fourth
year sending home the Provincial Report Card. We continue to look at ways to
improve our reporting to students and parents. If you have suggestions or comments,
please contact me at the school. You can reach me by phone at 204-736-2282 or
by email at sthomson@rrvsd.ca.
We now turn our
thoughts to the holidays which are a short few days away! Students and staff
are all looking forward to celebrating with family and friends. Enjoy a winter wonderful
December as well as restful break!
Merry Christmas
and Happy Holidays!
