Pink Shirt Day

This morning was a good morning as we started the day all together in an assembly in the gym to discuss Pink Shirt Day. Over the last week students and teachers have been discussing bullying and how as a whole we are stronger than any bully. Classes at the same time were talking about what the opposite of bullying and what the opposite of bullying looked like and sounded like.

Classrooms then decided what they would like students and staff at J. A. Cuddy to be like. Presentations included some of the following words; respectful, kind, caring, smiling, serving, activism, welcoming, togetherness, open minded, appreciative, supportive, unique, and responsible.

  One classroom researched historical people to look at some of their thoughts on being a strong good person. With the words of Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy and the Dalia Lama to guide their ideas, classroom presentations were passionate and thought provoking.

Our next step is to form a student, staff, parent group to look at all the work of the classrooms and together come up with our school beliefs on what it means to be a Jaguar!
