December was
a whirlwind of excitement at J. A. Cuddy School. Our Kindergarten to Grade 4
Winter Concert was wonderful and for the first time we had our Kinderstart
students attend and perform at the concert. The concert showcased many of the
talents of our students, including volunteers from Grade 5-8 who helped with
sound, lighting, technology, and stage decoration. Thank you to our amazing
teacher staff for their time and effort in making the concert such a success.
The last
week of school saw the students participate in a spirit week daily themed
dress, skating at the recreation centre, and many other fun filled learning
activities. It is always a wonderful sight to see how our talented teachers
find such creative ways to keep the learning fun for the students.
We hope that everyone had a restful and enjoyable winter
break and are looking forward to the excitement and challenges of learning
throughout the second half of the school year. For many, January marks a time
of making resolutions and positive changes in their lives. The New Year also
marks a great time for parents and students to sit down and examine the student’s
goals for the remainder of the school year. It is our hope that all students at
J. A. Cuddy will have a sense of belonging, demonstrate leadership, and strive
for independence and high levels of achievement.
This month will bring some very exciting opportunities for
students at J. A. Cuddy. Be sure to look out for the upcoming Lego Club,
Robotics Club, Chess Club and Art Club. Our first basketball games will be held
on January 20th in Lowe Farm, followed by a game on the 27th
in St. Malo, and then a home game at J. A. Cuddy on February 3rd.
Also make sure you mark your calendars for the Middle Years Winter Concert on
February 5th at 6:30 p.m.
